Boko Haram: Troops kill 48 terrorists, foil attack




Troops connected to the Multi-National Taskforce in Niger Republic has killed forty-eight terrorists of the Boko Haram sect.

The troops additionally captured 4 of the insurgents alive in the course of the attack at Tumour.

The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche briefed journalists on the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

He stated that the troops additionally repelled the insurgents’ assaults in Gwoza, Borno State and Sabon-Gari in Madagali Council Area of Adamawa State.

While highlighting actions of the Operation Lafiya Dole, Enenche stated, “In this theatre of operation our troops had some encounters with Boko Haram Insurgents/Terrorists.

“The troops efficiently repelled Boko Haram Terrorists attack at Yamteke in Gwoza LGA of Borno State, within the course of 4 Boko Haram Terrorists have been neutralized whereas three AK47 rifles, two hand grenades and One Tecno telephone have been recovered.

“Furthermore, Boko Haram Terrorist/Islamic State of West Africa Province attack was efficiently repelled by hunters at Sabon-Gari village of Madagali LGA in Adamawa State. During the encounter, two terrorists have been killed and One AK47 rifle was recovered.

“Similarly, troops of Sector Four Multi-National Joint Task Force successfully repelled a Boko Haram Terrorists attack at Tumour in Republic of Niger. During the attack, Forty-Eight terrorists were invalidated while four others were captured by the troops”.

Speaking on the Operation Safe Haven, the Coordinator added, “The gallant multi-agency troops of operation SAFE HAVEN encountered some gunmen at Kurgwi alongside Namu – Chibdai highway in Quan Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State on 19 March 2020.

“In the method, two infamous gun runners have been killed; one AK 47 rifle was recovered amongst different gadgets. Similarly, similar day, 4 suspected Sara Suka activists have been arrested throughout a cordon and search operation. Seven cutlasses, three knives and substances suspected to be illicit medicine and charms have been recovered from them.

“The public is hereby recommended and requested to proceed to offer credible data to the troops in order to maintain this development amongst different success achieved by troops of the Nigerian Military and different safety companies.
