Mr Femi Falana, a Senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has insisted that authorized measures shall be taken in opposition to the Division of State Providers (DSS) over its refusal to launch Omoyele Sowore, convener of the #RevolutionNow Motion.
Falana was reacting to the refusal of the DSS to adjust to the order of a Federal Excessive Court docket which ordered the discharge of Sowore alongside Olawale Adebayo higher referred to as “Mandate”.
In a press release on Thursday, Falana mentioned: “that is the second time the DSS would ignore court docket order to launch Sowore. On eighth August 2019, the Honourable Justice Taiwo Taiwo granted the appliance of the State Safety Service to detain Mr. Omoyele Sowore for 45 days.
“Upon the expiration of the 45-day detention interval the court docket granted Mr. Sowore bail on September 24, 2019. He met the bail circumstances however the State Safety Service refused to launch him from custody.
“Mr. Sowore and Mandate Bakare had been subsequently charged with treasonable felony, cyber stalking and cash laundering on September 30, 2019. The trial choose, the Honourable Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu admitted the defendants to bail beneath very stringent circumstances. Upon assembly the bail circumstances Justice Ojukwu directed the State Safety Service to launch the defendants from detention.
“However in utter contempt of the orders of Justice Ojukwu the State Safety Service has refused to launch Messrs Sowore and Bakare from custody.
