Nigeria Immigration stops passport processing, migrant e-registration

The Nigeria Immigration Service has suspended the processing of passport and migrant e-Registration.

An announcement by Sunday James, the Service Public Relations Officer, on Monday, defined that this was a response to the outbreak and unfold of coronavirus.

He mentioned the Comptroller General of Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, gave the order on Monday.

“The service has accordingly directed for the temporary suspension of processing of passport and Migrant e-Registration effective 23rd March – 23rd April, 2020 in line with the government’s directives on Restrictions on International Flight,” he mentioned.

Babandede assured that the interval can be used to course of all pending passport instances.

He added that the general public would learn when the passports are prepared for assortment.

The CGI regretted any inconvenience brought on by the suspension.
